Here’s how the numbers stacked up:

  • Prime Cattle: Limited numbers went to the processors this week, with prices ranging from 440c to 506c/kg.
  • Feeder Cattle: A fantastic result here! Both yearling steers and heifers jumped a solid 50c/kg (and even more in some places). Steers clocked in between 510c and 584c (averaging a strong 559c/kg), while the heifers fetched between 450c and 564c/kg.
  • Restockers: Light cattle were the absolute stars of the day, climbing up to $1.00/kg dearer. Steers hit the 526c to 600c/kg mark. We saw a great supply of heifers, too, making from 450c to 574c to wrap up with a cracking 546c/kg average.
  • Cows & Bulls: Cows were few and far between today. 2 and 3 scores went to processors for 350c to 420c/kg, while the prime heavyweights made a tidy 416c to 437c/kg. Bulls lacked a bit of quality this week, topping out at 366c/kg.
