A total yarding this week of 1275 head with the JBR Team yarding 124 head.

Here are some of the highlights from the sale.

R&K Penrose - Gunnedah - A pen of Charolais X Strs @ 636.2 x 332kg = $2117. A pen of Hereford X Hfrs @ 640c x 296kg = $1895

J Hayes - Narrabri - A pen of Angus X Hfrs @ 534.2c x 467kg = $2495

M Bush - Gunnedah - Fresian Strs @ 370.2c x 567kg = $2100

N&K Morgan - Duri - Speckle Strs @ 520c x 490kg = $2553

An overall firmer market across the board at Gunnedah this week, with a fair quality yarding of 2,274 head. Predominantly made up of yearling and weaner cattle, all major buyers were present alongside renewed restocker interest particularly on cows!

Gunnedah Sale Yards Weekly Report 29th September 2026

A smaller, high-quality yarding of 2,135 head (down 1,035 on last sale) met with strong competition across the board at Gunnedah. All regular buyers were present and operating actively, driving a noticeably dearer market across most categories.

A slightly smaller yarding in Gunnedah this week with 3,188 head yarded. Quality held up fairly well, dominated primarily by yearling and feeder types, though all grades were represented.
