Description

There was a total yarding of 964 head, with the market dominated by feeder cattle and trade stock. The market continued to show a positive trend, with solid competition throughout the yarding.

The JBR Team yarded 167 head, some of the highlights from this weeks sale include:

Emerge - Gunnedah - A pen of Angus Hfrs @ 538.2c x 413kg = $2223

Torrens - Gunnedah - A pen of Angus feeder strs @ 602.2c x 407kg  = $2455

Bullawa - Pilliga - A pen Brahman X cows @ 410.2c x 705kg = $2894

Carmel - Baradine - A pen of Angus X Hfrs @ 480c x 481kg = $2313

Yardings were down in Gunnedah this week, with 1,534 cattle scanned (700+ fewer than last sale) in a mixed-quality yarding. All major buyers were present in a market where prime, heavier weight cattle saw improvements, while most other categories eased.

Gunnedah Sale Yards Weekly Report 4th August 2026

A massive surge in numbers at Gunnedah this week, with 2,240 cattle yarded up 1,100 head on last week!
Overall, it was a fair quality yarding featuring predominantly young cattle alongside an increased offering of store cows.

Gunnedah Sale Yards Weekly Report 28th July 2026

A total of 1,200 cattle were yarded at Gunnedah down 100 head on last week. It was a mixed quality yarding consisting predominantly of yearling and weaner cattle, with only a few pens of prime cattle on offer.
