Description

There was a strong yarding of 1900 cattle with most grades of cattle well represented. Great to see the local cattle presenting with plenty of weight.

Our JBR team presented 221 head of great quality cattle.

The BIG sale of the day goes to-

Goally Farms - Mullaley

A pen of Angus Strs @ 678.2c  x  348.2kg = $2361

G&J Knapman - Gunnedah

Angus Strs @ 570c x 467kg = $2664

Leemar Past - Carroll

Angus hfrs @ 540c x 473kg = $2554

Carmel - Baradine

Charolais x hfrs @ 520c x 472kg = $2457

Numbers eased this week Gunnedah, with 1,085 cattle yarded down 785 head on last week. The yarding was a step up in quality, made up predominantly of yearlings and weaners, though prime cattle and cows remained limited. Most major buyers were active today, driving steady competition. Numbers surged significantly at Gunnedah this week, with 1,973 cattle yarded, a massive jump of 1,100 head from last week. While all major buyers were active with steady competition, the overall market plateaued, showcasing a plainer yarding with limited prime lines on offer. Lighter cattle grades trended softer.
