A total yarding this week of 1172 head with most grades of cattle represented.

The JBR team yarded cattle from Gunnedah, Boggabri, Piallaway & Gwabegar districts.

Here are some of the highlights from today's sale below.

Braemar Farm - Piallaway - A pen of Santa X Hfrs @612.2c x 375kg = $2295

K&S Ellicott - Gwabegar - A pen of Angus steers @575c x 468kg = $2691

AL Richards - Piallaway - A pen of Hereford cows@ 381.2c x 663kg = $2529

Gunnedah Sale Yards Weekly Report 6th October2026

An overall firmer market across the board at Gunnedah this week, with a fair quality yarding of 2,274 head. Predominantly made up of yearling and weaner cattle, all major buyers were present alongside renewed restocker interest particularly on cows!

A smaller, high-quality yarding of 2,135 head (down 1,035 on last sale) met with strong competition across the board at Gunnedah. All regular buyers were present and operating actively, driving a noticeably dearer market across most categories.

A slightly smaller yarding in Gunnedah this week with 3,188 head yarded. Quality held up fairly well, dominated primarily by yearling and feeder types, though all grades were represented.
