With warmer weather hitting the region, we saw a surge in supply at Gunnedah this week, pushing overall numbers to 3,523 head. It was a fair-quality, all-round yarding with all major buyers present, resulting in an overall softer market.
Key Market Highlights:

Yearling Steers (Feed > 400kg): Held strong! Buyers continue to chase weight, pushing prices 5c dearer to make 480c – 586c/kg (avg
557c/kg).
- Yearling Steers (Feed < 400kg): Eased 30c cheaper, ranging 480c - 606c/kg.
- Yearling Heifers (Feed): Settled 30c+ cheaper, selling from 410c - 518c/kg (avg 483c/kg).
- Prime Yearling (Trade): Solid trade interest, fetching 420c - 488c/kg.

Restocker Cattle: Considerably cheaper on light lines. Steers made 519c - 656c/kg, while heifers brought 454c - 560c/kg.
- Prime Grown Cattle: Processors saw prime grown cattle top out at 456c/kg.
