A solid yarding of 1,273 head went under the hammer in Gunnedah yesterday. Demand remained competitive across key
categories, particularly for quality feeder steers and heavy cattle.
Here are the key highlights from this week’s sale:
- Weaner Steers (280–330kg): Topped at 622.2c/kg (Avg $1,754.64/hd)
- Feeder Steers (400–500kg): Topped at 619.2c/kg (Avg $2,484.71/hd)
- Heavy Steers (500kg+): Averaged $2,776.07/hd
- Heifers (330–400kg): Topped at 579.2c/kg (Avg $1,959.73/hd)
- Heavy Cows (520kg+): Topped at 408.2c/kg (Avg $2,320.94/hd)
- Heavy Bulls (600kg+): Averaged $3,096.00/hd
