Young Cattle (Trade): Strongly contested! 15c/kg dearer and more in places. Steers topped at 518c/kg, with heifers reaching 486c/kg.
Restockers: Light cattle were the flavor of the day, tracking 20c to 30c/kg dearer. Steers topped at a big 556c/kg; heifers hit 484c/kg.
Feeder Cattle: Yearling steers lacked a bit of overall quality and averaged slightly cheaper, though the top end held firm. Steers made 469c to 532c/kg; heifers fetched 460c to 496c/kg.
Export & Cows: Processors fought hard for cows, which were considerably dearer across the board.
- 2 Score: 250c – 350c/kg
- 3 Score: 344c – 392c/kg
- Prime Heavyweights: 395c – 415c/kg
- Heavy Bulls: Topped at 382c/kg
- Prime Grown Steers: Topped at 490c/kg (heifers cheaper on quality, making to 467c/kg).
A solid result for vendors this week, particularly on the lights and the cow run.
