Rain on the horizon drops numbers as the market moves dearer!

The yarding mostly consisted of fair-quality yearlings and weaners, with limited numbers of young trade and prime grown cattle available. All major buyers were at the rail and active, driving an overall dearer market across the board!

Market Breakdown:

• Feeder yearling steers: Considerably dearer, selling from 480c to 598c/kg to average 577c/kg.
  
• Feeder yearling heifers: Improved by 10c/kg, making 424c to 554c/kg with an average of 528c/kg.
  
• Restocker cattle: Strong demand continued, pushing light cattle up by 40c/kg+ in places.
  
  • Steers: 548c to 640c/kg (avg 599c/kg)
    
  • Heifers: 450c to 540c/kg (avg 500c/kg)
    
• Prime trade cattle: Topped at 420c/kg.
  
• Grown processor cattle: Prime grown cattle topped at 422c/kg.
  
• Cows:
  
  • 2-Score Processor Cows: Up 25c/kg, making 300c to 350c/kg.
    
  • 3-Score Cows: Held firm at 340c to 379c/kg.
    
  • 4-Score Prime Heavy Cows: Marginally cheaper at 380c to 405c/kg.
    
• Bulls: Heavy bulls reached up to 396c/kg.
